The Role: Account Executive 🤝

We are seeking a talented Account Executive to drive the sales of our innovative Identity Security Solution. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a skilled communicator, capable of engaging prospects through discovery calls and analyzing needs to qualify opportunities.
  • Understand and articulate the value of SailPoint solutions, benchmarking against Microsoft, Okta, and Saviynt.
  • Deliver a superior customer experience by positioning solutions competitively and highlighting broader value propositions, including partner services.
  • Lead a virtual team comprising partner resources, presales, partner managers, deal desk, professional services, BVA team, and customer success managers to secure sales wins and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Operate collaboratively, selling as part of a team rather than independently.
  • Take initiative as the quarterback—prepare the team for calls and ensure all team members are aligned.
  • Make strategic decisions on stakeholder engagement, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Create detailed territory and opportunity plans to navigate from discovery to closing.
  • Work closely with leadership to refine strategies and maximize sales effectiveness.

Responsibilities 🚀

  • Consistently exceed quarterly and annual revenue quotas.
  • Address each customer’s and partner’s unique needs with tailored solutions and accurate information.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans for your assigned territory.
  • Engage with customers and partners to ensure high-quality service aligned with SailPoint’s core values.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to implement strategic marketing initiatives with partners and end users.
  • Follow up diligently on all leads and maintain up-to-date records in internal systems.
  • Lead technical demonstrations highlighting SailPoint’s advantages.
  • Coordinate with the post-sale team to maintain ongoing account coverage and identify new opportunities.
  • Manage all aspects of the sales cycle—from qualification to closing negotiations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of your territory—including prospects, customers, influencers, and competitors.
  • Assess and communicate competitive and complementary product and technological strategies.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels effectively.
  • Utilize channel management tools, ensure accurate forecasting, and maintain Salesforce hygiene.

  • Establish a plan for existing customers, identifying opportunities for growth and understanding account potential.
  • Segment your account list into top 20 focused accounts and the top 3 Big Bet accounts.
  • Connect with previous account managers to gather historical insights.
  • Meet with partners involved in existing accounts to understand their services and position.
  • Collaborate with the marketing manager on the marketing plan.
  • Coordinate with the channel manager to develop a channel strategy.

2-Month Milestones 🚧

  • Create a stakeholder map for key partners influencing your top accounts and develop engagement plans.
  • Maintain Salesforce accuracy with regular activity updates.
  • Attend weekly meetings with sales management to keep tools like Salesforce and Clari current.

3-Month Milestones 📅

  • Complete and present your territory plan, including account potential and prioritized opportunities.
  • Identify and plan opportunities for pipeline growth for 2025 and beyond.
  • Develop marketing and channel engagement strategies to bridge gaps toward targets.
  • Gather customer references and case studies to support sales.
  • Lead a virtual operating cadence with your team.
  • Achieve the “1st Mate” enablement badge, demonstrating readiness and expertise.
  • Meet with existing customers to explore additional value and up-sell opportunities.

4-Month Milestones 🌟

  • Create detailed account plans for key accounts.
  • Design comprehensive opportunity plans for major prospects to move toward closing.
