Job Summary

This outside sales role involves promoting Sysco’s products and services while building strong relationships with new and existing accounts. The focus is on enabling our customers' success and achieving sales and profit targets. Flexibility to work non-traditional hours such as evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business and expand existing accounts to drive profitable sales growth within an assigned territory 🔍
  • Identify and qualify prospects according to company strategies 🎯
  • Research customer needs and propose tailored product and service solutions 📝
  • Monitor market trends to recommend relevant products to customers 📊
  • Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ offerings, sharing insights with customers 🤓
  • Address customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and usage 💬
  • Provide product info and hands-on training to customer staff 🎓
  • Travel to customer sites, conventions, and meetings using a personal vehicle 🚗
  • Coordinate collections and manage accounts receivable in collaboration with the credit department 💼
  • Manage delivery schedules and troubleshoot issues like stock shortages or special orders 📦
  • Participate in company events, promotions, and customer visits 🎉
  • Attend sales and district meetings, engaging in ongoing training sessions 📅
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members 🤝
  • Analyze reports like sales data, customer bids, and profit margins 📈
  • Handle administrative tasks including sales budgeting, record keeping, and preparing quotes 📝
  • Perform any other duties as assigned to support team success 🔧

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field OR
  • HSD/GED plus 3 years of Restaurant Management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent relevant experience 🧑‍🎓

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-Lingual abilities 🗣️
  • Experience in Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, or as a Chef 🍽️

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record 🚗
  • Current automobile insurance meeting company liability standards (bodily injury $100,000/$300,000; property damage $100,000) 📝

Requirements

  • Successful completion of employment testing ✅
  • Signing of Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement ✍️
  • Reside in or willingness to relocate to the territory vicinity 📍
