Job Summary

As an outside sales representative, your primary responsibility is to promote Sysco’s products and services while building and maintaining relationships with new and existing accounts. Your goal is to support customer success and meet sales and profit objectives. Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required.

Responsibilities 📝

  • Develop new business and expand existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth within your territory
  • Identify and qualify prospects according to company goals
  • Research customer needs and craft a tailored mix of products and services
  • Analyze market trends and recommend suitable products based on business goals
  • Stay informed on market conditions, product innovations, and competitor activity; share insights with customers
  • Address customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, and availability
  • Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel
  • Drive your personal vehicle to customer sites, events, and meetings
  • Manage accounts receivable processes, working with credit departments to collect balances
  • Coordinate deliveries as per routing schedules and troubleshoot order issues
  • Participate in company events, promotions, and customer visits
  • Attend sales and district meetings and ongoing training sessions
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members
  • Analyze reports such as sales data, customer bids, and profit margins
  • Complete administrative tasks including preparing sales budgets, records, quotes, and reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications ✅

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field, or
  • High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of restaurant management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual abilities
  • Experience in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or as a chef

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations

  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
  • Current automobile insurance meeting liability limits:
    • Bodily injury: $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident
    • Property damage: $100,000

Additional Requirements

  • Pass employment testing
  • Sign Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement
  • Willing to reside or relocate near the assigned territory
