Job Summary

This outside sales role involves promoting Sysco’s products and services, building relationships with new and existing accounts, and helping our customers succeed. Success in this position requires working some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) to meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business and nurture existing accounts to drive profitable sales growth within your territory
  • Qualify prospects according to company stratification goals
  • Research customer needs, recommend suitable products and services
  • Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ offerings
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, and availability
  • Provide training and product information to customer personnel
  • Travel to customer locations, conventions, and meetings via personal vehicle
  • Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collections
  • Coordinate deliveries, troubleshoot issues, and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Participate in company functions, promotions, and events
  • Attend sales and district meetings, and engage in ongoing training
  • Assist in training new employees when needed
  • Analyze reports on sales activity, customer bids, and margins
  • Complete administrative duties such as preparing sales reports, budgets, and quotes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field OR HSD/GED with 3+ years in Restaurant Management, B2B, outside sales, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual proficiency
  • Experience in restaurant management, foodservice outside sales, or as a chef

Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations

  • Valid driver’s license with insurability compliance
  • Automobile insurance meeting liability limits:
    • Bodily injury: $100,000 per person, $300,000 per accident
    • Property damage: $100,000

Employment Requirements

  • Pass employment testing
  • Sign Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement
  • Reside or be willing to relocate to the assigned territory
