Valiant is seeking highly capable CAT III Russian Linguists to deliver interpretation and translation services supporting ongoing and new U.S. operations and mission requirements. If you have a passion for languages and national security, this is an excellent opportunity to serve with impact.

👔 Responsibilities and Duties

• Foreign Language Support: Provide transcription, translation, and interpretation services for military interrogations, intelligence collection, and operational missions, ensuring accurate idiomatic translations between English and Russian.
• Cultural and Contextual Analysis: Incorporate cultural and ethnic context into translations, interpretations, and transcriptions, offering expert opinions on the most likely meanings or intentions behind statements with multiple interpretations.
• Document Exploitation: Scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents and intercepted data to extract key information, supporting military information requirements with relevant insights from medical, scientific, engineering, legal, and other professional fields.
• Other Duties as Assigned: Be flexible and adaptable to additional operational needs.

🎓 Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in interpretation/translation
• ILR Level 3 proficiency in both Target Language (Russian) and English (Native proficiency preferred but not required)
• Experience with document exploitation techniques
• Deep geo-political knowledge
• Computer literacy essential
• Ability to understand speech in standard dialects, follow conversations, radio broadcasts, news stories, technical reports, and public addresses
• Skilled in producing idiomatic translations, including colloquial and slang expressions
• Proven ability to interpret, translate, transcribe, and interpret ongoing conversations and intelligence activities accurately
• Maintain cultural and ethnic context of translations with advisory input on their significance
• Perform thorough document exploitation—scanning, researching, and analyzing foreign language documents for intelligence components

🔐 Security Requirements

• Active TOP SECRET clearance required with the ability to obtain SCI access
• Pass polygraph examination and CI Focus Interview
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory

💪 Physical Requirements

Physical demands may include lifting, climbing stairs, extended sitting or standing, and other activities necessary for the role.
