Job Description

As a Risk Management & Compliance professional, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the IKEA brand by identifying and managing risks, ensuring compliance, and supporting a risk-aware culture aligned with IKEA values. Your efforts will help lead the organization through opportunities and challenges with confidence. 🚦🔒

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of governance, risk, and compliance tools across the "Three Lines" to manage risk within the Americas region, including the USA, Central and South America, and Canada.
• Understand regional business operations, risks, controls, and industry best practices to maintain an appropriate and scalable risk management framework.
• Align regulatory and legal requirements with business policies, standards, and reporting mechanisms.
• Clarify roles and responsibilities across the "Three Lines" concerning risk and compliance governance, including policies and tools.
• Enhance the value of Risk Management and Compliance activities, turning them into enablers for continuous improvement.
• Ensure Emergency Response, Crisis Management, Business Continuity Plans, and trainings meet Inter IKEA standards.
• Provide assurance on compliance levels and regulatory adherence for high/critical risks to Supply Management and stakeholders.
• Offer operational support during critical incidents and investigations.
• Coordinate insurance arrangements across countries with IKANO Group and R&C Operations Managers.
• Lead training and succession planning within the team.
• Collaborate with specialists in Safety & Security, Supply Chain Security, Ethics & Integrity, Risk Management, Information Security, Internal Audit, and Reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience leading Risk and Compliance initiatives.
• Deep understanding of IKEA processes, culture, and values.
• Proven leadership and management skills, familiar with IKEA governance structures.
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks including Safety & Security, Data Privacy, and Ethics & Integrity.
• Strong business capabilities, especially in customer fulfillment.
• Experience with R&C technology solutions like risk assessment automation tools.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to motivate teams.
• Strong investigative and report writing skills.
• Ability to carry out risk and threat assessments, identifying emerging risks.
• Fluent in English; bilingual abilities in Portuguese or Spanish are a plus.
• Passionate about working with people, inspiring others through coaching and effective communication.
• Able to develop, implement, and follow through on strategic plans to achieve outstanding results.
• High integrity, independent, with leadership by example.
