Job Description

The Retail Banker I serves as a key customer liaison, utilizing financial expertise to assist clients with their banking needs. This role contributes to TD’s growth by identifying suitable solutions that help customers meet their financial goals and strengthen their relationship with TD.

Depth & Scope of Responsibilities

  • Proficient in products, services, and routine transactions to educate customers or refer them internally, ensuring a positive experience 😊
  • Knowledgeable of the full product suite and processes with moderate complexity/risk
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships through active listening and personalized solutions
  • Recommends products based on customer needs, highlighting features and benefits
  • Uses CRM tools to assess customer needs and support outbound sales activities
  • Independently resolves issues, escalating when necessary
  • Explains detailed or complex information effectively to customers
  • Participates in outreach, servicing, and advice activities aligned with TD’s “ unexpectedly human ” promise
  • Engages in loan product discussions and facilitates application processes
  • Maintains active registration with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry)

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED 📜
  • Minimum 1+ years working with customers or in sales, including volunteering, education, or military experience (preferred)
  • Experience as a Teller is preferred
  • Completion of teller training upon hire
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Notary License (Preferred)

Customer Accountabilities

  • Deliver legendary customer service through relationship-building and personalized advice 🎯
  • Support TD’s Customer Service Strategy — building trust, providing consultative support, and proactively offering insights
  • Act as a customer advocate to improve financial confidence and resolve issues
  • Manage customer interactions with professionalism and empathy
  • Guide customers on self-service options, including digital channels
  • Handle various teller transactions responsibly, adhering to operational policies
  • Recognize transaction needs and provide relevant education & support

Shareholder & Operational Accountabilities

  • Ensure compliance with regulations like Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act
  • Participate in daily store operations aligned with TD’s risk framework
  • Maintain accurate documentation and due diligence for transactions
  • Support operational excellence by adhering to policies and controls

Team & Employee Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively within the team and promote a positive work environment 🤝
  • Enhance personal skills through continuous learning and feedback

Regulatory & Physical Requirements
