Compensation & Benefits

Role Overview

The Retail Banker I acts as a customer liaison, utilizing expertise and consultative advice to help Customers meet their banking needs. They contribute to business growth by identifying suitable TD solutions and fostering strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities & Scope

  • Proficient in banking products, services, and routine transactions
  • Identify opportunities to educate Customers and refer them to appropriate team members
  • Build and nurture Customer relationships through active listening and tailored solutions
  • Recommend products based on Customer needs, highlighting features and benefits
  • Utilize Customer relationship management tools for assessments and outbound sales
  • Resolve customer issues independently, escalating when necessary
  • Engage in customer outreach, servicing, and advice activities
  • Assist with loan product conversations and application processing
  • Maintain active registration with the NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry)

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of customer service/sales experience (volunteering, education, military preferred)
  • Experience as a Teller is preferred
  • Completion of teller training upon hire
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Notary License (Preferred)

Customer Accountabilities

  • Deliver a Legendary customer experience through relationships and expert advice
  • Support the Bank's Customer Service Strategy with trust-building content and proactive support
  • Act as a Customer advocate, offering tips and resolving issues efficiently
  • Manage customer flow and needs in the lobby, ensuring a welcoming environment
  • Promote digital and self-service banking channels

Shareholder & Operational Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations and policies
  • Support operational excellence and risk management
  • Maintain accurate documentation and conduct due diligence
  • Act as a brand ambassador and promote TD's values and standards

Employee & Team Development

  • Participate fully in team activities, ensuring positive collaboration
  • Engage in ongoing training and development programs
  • Seek opportunities for growth and feedback

Regulatory & Physical Requirements

This position qualifies as a Loan Originator under Regulation Z and SAFE Act requirements. Candidates must meet background checks and licensing criteria.

Physical demands include: sitting, standing, walking, lifting under 25 lbs., bending, reaching, and continuous concentration.

Travel is occasional domestically, with no international travel expected.
