The University of Minnesota's Grossman Center for Memory Research and Care is looking for a bilingual Psychometrist to support memory research among Chinese American participants, involving cognitive assessments and research-related tasks. 🧠✨
Position Summary
The Grossman Center for Memory Research and Care at the University of Minnesota's Department of Neurology is dedicated to advancing world-class memory research to improve quality of life. We are seeking a bilingual Psychometrist (Chinese Mandarin and/or Cantonese, and English) to work directly with Chinese American research participants, administering and scoring cognitive assessments. This role also involves supporting various research activities, including data entry and quality assessments. Prior experience in basic statistics is a plus.
Work Schedule 🗓️
Type: Hybrid (predominantly in-person)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer and score neuropsychometric tests:
- Adapt test administration to meet individual participant needs while adhering to standardized procedures.
- Coordinate and score a variety of neuropsychometric tests under supervision, covering cognitive functions like attention, memory, language, perceptual-motor skills, and executive functions.
- Ensure accurate test compilation and note behavioral observations for neuropsychologist interpretation.
- Complete paperwork:
- Create written summaries of participant behavior during testing.
- Maintain test materials and supplies.
- Compile data for clinical and research purposes.
- Accurately enter test data into relevant databases.
- Provide care or service (if applicable):
- Communicate respectfully with participants.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment.
Qualifications 🎓
- BA/BS in psychology or health-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (minimum four years).
- Near native fluency in reading, writing, and speaking Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.
- Experience working effectively with diverse adult populations.
- Basic measurement and computer skills, with strong observation, reading, and writing abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and independence.
Pay and Benefits 💼
Pay Range: $20.50/hr – $23.69/hr (based on qualifications)
Appointment: 60% appointment
