Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- 2 to 5 years of professional work experience
- Fluency in Hebrew and/or Sinhala is preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office suite
- Experience in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment 🔥
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team 🤝
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
These core duties are fundamental to the role and should be performed independently with minimal guidance.
- Research international terrorist organizations, drug cartels, and their financing mechanisms; prepare detailed memoranda 📄
- Analyze materials related to the opioid epidemic; prepare comprehensive reports
- Assist attorneys and senior paralegals in all phases of discovery, including drafting requests, analyzing responses, and preparing depositions
- Organize discovery documents and manage client databases, including coding and indexing
- Compile and analyze reports for attorneys and senior staff
- Draft pre-trial pleadings, trial notebooks, exhibits, and legal authorities
- Help organize deposition exhibits and summarize testimony upon direction
- Assist with record designation and brief compilation
- Conduct legal research using LEXIS, Westlaw, and other legal resources 📚
- Perform general paralegal duties: maintaining files, drafting letters, memos, and conducting witness research
- Communicate with clients and adversaries professionally
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Maintain efficient tracking of project and daily task time ⏱️
Work Environment & Conditions
Work may involve more than 40 hours per week and occasional travel. The usual working conditions are within a climate-controlled office environment. Overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
