Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Over-the-Phone Hindi Interpreter who will provide high-quality consecutive interpretation services remotely from their home in the US, supporting federal government projects. Prior training and interpretation experience are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, clear, and professional interpretation during sessions
• Communicate ideas effectively and with cultural sensitivity
• Maintain confidentiality of all session information
• Adhere to Accent on Languages' and industry-standard ethics and guidelines
• Complete all training, mentorship, and coaching requirements
• Handle sessions lasting 2-4 hours with focus and professionalism
• Continuously expand your vocabulary and professional knowledge
• Respond promptly to feedback and improve your skills

Important Requirements

• Must be a US citizen or hold a valid US Green Card, with residence in the US for the past 3 years
• Legal ability to work in the US
• Pass a clearance process, which includes paperwork and language screening; current government clearance is preferred
• Strict adherence to the interpreter’s code of ethics and confidentiality
• Perform accurate interpretation without personal opinions or counseling

Qualifications

• Professional experience in over-the-phone interpretation
• At least 6 months of relevant interpretation experience
• Ability to pass a language proficiency assessment
• Proficiency in using multiple software and phone systems simultaneously
• Comfortable interpreting for extended periods (2-4 hours)
• Excellent note-taking and concentration skills in fast-paced environments
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; college degree preferred
• Recognized certification in legal or community interpretation is a plus
• Previous experience with government projects and security clearance is highly desirable
