Job Overview

Job Title: Over the Phone Interpretation (Independent contractor 1099)

Language combination we are recruiting for:

  • English – Target Language (Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese)

Location: Remote / Los Angeles, CA

Our mission is to facilitate seamless communication—whether for medical appointments, banking, or travel needs—by building a strong support system that includes recruitment, training, QA, remote IT support, and supervision to ensure interpreters meet their KPIs and maintain quality standards.

Interpretation Duties & Responsibilities

  • Convey messages clearly: Use active listening to interpret accurately, considering various voices, accents, tempos, personalities, and industries, without adding or omitting information.
  • Communication considerations: Inform parties of potential hindrances like weather, connectivity issues, or background noise.
  • Document interactions: Record detailed interactions in CRM using provided templates and tools such as CRM, training guides, notes, Google, and supervisor support.
  • Handle escalations: Urgently resolve issues and notify supervisors of critical cases or client concerns that have not been properly addressed.
  • Customer service excellence: Follow scripts and templates, abide by company standards and ethics, and provide caring, professional support.
  • Stay motivated: Demonstrate a positive attitude aligned with company initiatives.
  • System notifications: Promptly report and endeavor to resolve system issues within your scope.
  • Effective communication: Maintain professional interactions with clients and colleagues, following company policies.

Requirements for Candidates

  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Consent to background checks
  • Proficient in accent-neutral, near-native English
  • High school diploma or higher
  • Stable employment history
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Knowledge and use of PC systems, CRM, and Google Search

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Typing speed of at least 20 WPM
  • Experience in a service organization environment
  • Self-motivated with eagerness to improve
  • Attention to detail and strong multitasking abilities
  • Ability to focus in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a courteous and friendly tone
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication
  • Experience with recruitment, pre-screening resumes, conducting interviews, and English language assessments
