Overview

Mercor is seeking a native Italian or Italian-speaking Swiss STEM enthusiast with expertise in biology, physics, or chemistry. Your role will involve creating and refining reasoning questions to test AI models, ensuring both scientific rigor and linguistic clarity in bilingual (Italian/English) prompts.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Optimize STEM-Based Prompts (Bilingual): Craft detailed, scientifically accurate prompts in Italian and/or English with multiple constraints and clear instructions.
  • Define and Document Evaluation Standards: Establish expectations for correct responses, develop comprehensive rubrics addressing scientific accuracy, linguistic clarity, regional terminology (Italy or Swiss Italian), and academic tone.
  • Conduct Model Testing and Grading (Bilingual): Test prompts through AI models, evaluate outputs for accuracy, reasoning, and clarity, and compare responses in Italian and English where applicable.
  • Support Benchmarking and Quality Assurance: Collaborate on QA reviews to ensure prompt quality and consistency across Italian-language benchmarks prior to official deployment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Native-level fluency in written Italian, specifically from Italy or Swiss Italian-speaking regions
  • Strong reading and writing skills in English
  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Biology, Physics, or Chemistry
  • Familiarity with undergraduate-level STEM topics in biology, physics, or chemistry
  • Excellent writing and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 2 years of experience in teaching, research, or applied STEM fields
  • Experience with Italian or Swiss secondary and university STEM curricula

  2. If successful, undertake a paid assessment focused on writing and rubrics
  3. Upon qualification, receive an invitation to join the project team
