About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled bilingual speakers with experience in a professional call center environment to join our team as Interpreters. You will receive comprehensive, paid training to become an Over-the-Phone (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreter (VRI), supporting clients across industries such as healthcare, legal, and financial services.

Key Responsibilities ✨

• Provide interpretation services between English and Cantonese across various sectors including medical, legal, and customer service.
• Ensure accuracy and neutrality while preserving tone, intent, and emotion during interpretations.
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
• Manage call flow professionally, intervening respectfully when clarification is needed.
• Demonstrate emotional intelligence in high-pressure or emotionally charged interactions.
• Utilize active listening and note-taking techniques to manage longer exchanges effectively.
• Stay within your role by avoiding personal opinions or advice.
• Participate in ongoing training and coaching to continually enhance skills.
• Use basic computer tools like MS Office and internal platforms to log activities and manage calls.

Required Qualifications ✅

• High school diploma or equivalent (college education preferred)
• Fluency in English and Cantonese at B2+ level or higher
• Ability to pass language and interpreting skills assessments
• At least 6 months of call center, customer service, or interpreting experience
• Strong verbal communication and ethical decision-making
• Professionalism, emotional control, and the ability to manage fast-paced environments
• Basic computer skills including typing and MS Office
• A quiet, distraction-free workspace conducive to active listening
• Stable home internet connection (no cellular hotspots)
• Valid government-issued ID required throughout recruitment and training

Preferred Qualifications 🌟

• Experience with remote work tools and platforms

• Desktop or laptop with ≥16GB RAM (Windows or Mac)

Important Notes 🔎

This is a structured, full-time, work-from-home position. It is not flexible or “self-paced.” Interpreters must be available to handle continuous, back-to-back calls during their scheduled shifts. Multitasking or attending to personal matters during work hours is not permitted.

Participants will follow a variable schedule with designated breaks managed by our Workforce Management team.
