About the Role

As a Bilingual Health Specialist, you will serve as a vital point of contact, providing expert health information and support to a diverse audience. Your clinical knowledge and communication skills will help address a wide range of health inquiries, contributing to public health initiatives and education.

Key Responsibilities

• 🔹 Provide advanced clinical inquiry responses (both verbal and written) to health-related questions from consumers, educators, medical and health professionals, state and local health departments, and other government offices.
• 🔹 Utilize your medical subject matter expertise on CDC INFO topics such as HIV/AIDS, immunizations, environmental health, NIOSH, TB, statistics, and more.
• 🔹 Respond to inquiries related to current events, including foodborne outbreaks and public health incidents.
• 🔹 Conduct advanced database searches and create informative documents, reports, and correspondence.
• 🔹 Document all inquiries systematically and adhere to quality assurance guidelines.
• 🔹 Participate in special projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• 🎓 High School diploma or equivalent with 2-4 years of experience in a related field; additional training or education in a relevant area is preferred.
• 🎓 Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a current RN license.
• 🗣️ Fluency in English and a specified secondary language (e.g., Spanish).
• 🩺 Experience in medical, scientific, and public health disciplines, with clinical knowledge of CDC-related topics.
• 🌐 Proficiency in internet search skills, Microsoft Office, and adaptability to new software applications.
• 💬 Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• ⚙️ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• 🤝 Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills.
• 🕒 Commitment to a two-week training schedule (8:00 am - 4:30 pm EST, Monday - Friday) with flexibility for additional hours as needed.

Home Office Requirements

• 💻 A personal computer or laptop (not a Chromebook, tablet, or notebook) running Windows 10/11 or macOS Big Sur (11.0.1+), Catalina (10.15), or Monterey (12.3).
• 🌐 Internet speed of at least 25 Mbps (50 Mbps for shared connectivity) and a minimum upload speed of 5 Mbps.
• 🔌 Wired internet connection via Category 5 or 6 ethernet cable to the home router.
• 🛡️ A private, secure workspace with sufficient power supply.
• 🇺🇸 US residency is required.

Salary Range 💰

Minimum: $34.85 per hour — Maximum: $68.55 per hour
