Mercor is seeking a Bilingual French STEM Expert who is a native speaker from Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, or France, with expertise in biology, physics, or chemistry theory and problem-solving. The role involves developing high-quality reasoning questions to evaluate AI models, ensuring scientific accuracy and clarity in both French and English. 🌍🔬

Job Responsibilities

🔹 Design and Optimize STEM-Based Prompts (Bilingual)

• Create detailed prompts in French and/or English with multiple constraints and scientifically accurate instructions

🔹 Define and Document Evaluation Standards

• Establish high-level expectations for correct responses within STEM contexts
• Develop comprehensive rubrics that emphasize scientific rigor and linguistic clarity—aligned with regional academic conventions in Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, or France

🔹 Conduct Model Testing and Grading (Bilingual)

• Run prompts through AI models and evaluate outputs for scientific accuracy, reasoning quality, and clarity
• Compare responses in French and English where appropriate

🔹 Support Benchmarking and Quality Assurance

• Participate in QA reviews to ensure prompts and rubrics meet scientific standards
• Maintain consistency and reliability across French-language assessments before integration

Minimum Qualifications

• Native-level fluency in written French, specifically from Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, or France
• Strong reading and writing proficiency in English
• Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in Biology, Physics, or Chemistry
• Familiarity with undergraduate-level biology, physics, or chemistry topics
• Excellent writing and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Over 2 years of experience in teaching, research, or applied STEM fields
• Experience working with French-language STEM curricula or academic standards in Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, or France
