Position Summary

SymoGlobal is seeking a full-time Vietnam Quality Inspector to oversee factory production, conduct product inspections, and perform quality control checks for manufacturing partners in Vietnam. The role primarily focuses on factories in and around the Hanoi region, with occasional travel to other parts of Vietnam as needed. Using SymoGlobal-provided equipment, procedures, and reporting systems, the inspector will perform quality control checks during production runs, before shipment, and during production issue resolution.

This position demands a keen eye for detail, integrity, clear communication skills, and the ability to work independently within factory environments. 🏭

Key Responsibilities

Production Quality Control

• 🔍 Conduct QC checks on active production runs using SymoGlobal-provided inspection equipment.
• Inspect materials, components, workmanship, packaging, labeling, and finished goods according to company standards.
• Verify production output aligns with approved samples, specifications, purchase orders, and client requirements.
• Identify quality defects, production inconsistencies, process deviations, and potential shipment risks.
• Perform in-process inspections, final random inspections, and follow-up inspections as needed.

Equipment-Based Testing

• Use company-provided tools and equipment for measurements, tests, and quality checks.
• Maintain inspection equipment in optimal working condition.
• Follow SymoGlobal procedures for equipment use, calibration, storage, and reporting.
• Report any equipment damage, malfunction, or missing tools immediately.

Factory Visits and Travel

• Travel regularly to factories around Hanoi.
• Travel occasionally within Vietnam when required by business needs.
• Coordinate factory visit schedules with management, factory contacts, and production teams.
• Represent SymoGlobal professionally during factory visits and interactions with suppliers.

Reporting and Documentation

• Complete inspection reports accurately and promptly.
• Submit photos, measurements, test results, defect summaries, and written findings using SymoGlobal’s reporting formats.
• Record time and activities precisely to facilitate proper inspection cost allocation.
• Escalate serious quality issues immediately to management.
• Keep clear records of inspections, factory visits, travel, and expenses.

Supplier and Factory Communication

• Communicate inspection findings professionally with factory personnel.
• Ask questions and gather information when production issues are identified.
• Maintain diplomatic communication, avoiding unnecessary conflicts while upholding quality standards.
• Provide constructive feedback to SymoGlobal management regarding factory performance and risks.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, production oversight, QA/QC, or supplier quality.
• Ability to interpret product specifications, checklists, and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail for defect detection and process inconsistencies.
• Comfort working in factory environments.
• Ability to travel within Vietnam as necessary.
• Proficiency with inspection tools, measurement equipment, mobile devices, and reporting software.
• Honest, reliable, and capable of working independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluency in English preferred; advanced English skills a plus.
• Fluent Vietnamese required; Mandarin/Chinese factory experience is advantageous.

Preferred Experience

• Inspecting consumer products, manufactured goods, components, or export packaging.
• Experience working with factories in northern Vietnam.
• Familiarity with pre-shipment and in-process inspections, defect classification.
• Practical knowledge of calipers, scales, gauges, test equipment, and inspection forms.
• Knowledge of AQL inspection methods (training available if needed).
• Experience cooperating with foreign companies, export clients, or adhering to international quality standards.

Work Location and Travel Expectations

The role is primarily based in Hanoi, with most factory visits in surrounding industrial zones. Occasional travel to other regions within Vietnam may be required based on production or inspection needs. SymoGlobal will cover approved travel expenses, including transportation, lodging for overnight trips, and meals.

All expenses must be documented with receipts and submitted via SymoGlobal’s expense process. Personal living expenses are not covered unless specifically approved.

Compensation

Salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, inspection capacity, communication abilities, and flexibility for travel. SymoGlobal provides essential inspection equipment and covers approved business travel expenses related to factory visits. ✨
