Video Interpreter Responsibilities 🎥

• Provide effective video remote interpreting services for clients. Occasional audio calls may be included.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined by AMN Language Services.
• Maintain professional conduct, including punctuality, attendance, preparedness, respectful interaction, and accurate record keeping.
• Quickly adapt to new and evolving technologies.
• Complete platform and video training, passing the internal readiness check before live calls.
• Participate in ongoing quality assurance and call monitoring programs.

Required Qualifications ✅

• Fluent with strong verbal communication skills in both source and target languages.
• Successful medical language proficiency assessment covering interpreter protocols and medical terminology.
• Respect for LEP clients’ culture, dialect, beliefs, and healthcare preferences.

Preferred Qualifications 🌟

• 2-5 years of U.S.-based medical interpreting experience.
• National interpreting certification (CCHI or CMI).
• Degrees or certifications in interpreting practices.
• Completion of accredited medical interpreting courses (e.g., ALTA, MITS, Bridging the Gap, MiTio, Cross-Cultural Training).
• Knowledge of ethical standards and practice codes (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC).
• Familiarity with HIPAA and other legal privacy requirements in medical interpreting.

Home Office Requirements 🏡

• Private room with full-length walls (floor to ceiling).
• Door that can be locked for privacy.
• Hardwired high-speed internet connection.
• This position must be performed from an employee’s private, company-approved office — not in public or mobile settings.

Physical Requirements 💪

• Sitting for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
• Using an on-ear headset throughout shifts.
• Operating a webcam for interactions with patients and providers.
• Vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Occasional lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds.
• Mobility to walk, sit, handle objects, reach, stoop, talk, and hear as required.

Work Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the USA.

Job Type: Part-time, with a fixed schedule between 20-28 hours per week.

Pay Scale: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour (subject to experience, training, education, and location). In some cases, rates may vary outside the listed range.
