Job Summary

The Proofreader, part of the Editorial team within the Quality department, reviews and verifies copy for client digital properties, including websites, applications, emails, ads, and RFPs, ensuring adherence to style guides and brand standards.

This hybrid role requires working 3 days a week in our Chicago Office, with a salary range of $50K - $60K. It is a bilingual Spanish position—fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and proofreading in Spanish is essential. 📝🌎

Sample Day-to-Day Duties

  • Conduct proofreading reviews and create review test plans
  • Communicate project milestones and issues with the Quality team
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure timely project completion
  • Test and resolve issues logged in Jira from project work

Responsibilities

  • Proof content against assets, marking errors in copy, style, and fonts
  • Ensure correct copyright/trademark usage and legal disclaimers are consistent
  • Follow strict brand guidelines and exercise attention to detail
  • Collaborate respectfully in an Agile environment
  • Meet project deadlines with clear communication on statuses or delays
  • Maintain and update proofreading documentation and guidelines
  • Work with other Quality disciplines to ensure team-wide understanding
  • Participate in weekly editorial roundtables
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred, but not required
  • Experience thriving in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Knowledge of style guides (Chicago, AP, MLA); AMA is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
  • Experience with Jira or similar tracking systems
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and website structure
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is a plus
  • Pharma and healthcare industry experience is a bonus
  • Must be bilingual—read, write, speak, and proofread in Spanish
