Purpose ๐ฏ
The Jewish Boardโs Mishkon IRAs and ICF programs offer compassionate residential and clinical services aligned with OPWDD and DOH standards. These programs prioritize respecting the religious needs of Orthodox Jewish residents while ensuring quality care and compliance.
Position Overview ๐
Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Program Coordinator is a key member of the IRA/ICF management team. You will oversee resident transitions, ensure compliance with all regulations, and collaborate with team members, families, and external stakeholders to provide outstanding care and compliance.
Key Responsibilities ๐
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance โ
- Lead efforts to keep IRAs/ICF audit-ready and compliant with state, federal, and CARF standards.
- Stay current on regulations, standards, and guidelines through ongoing research and collaboration with Compliance teams.
- Develop and review weekly data reports, trackers, and documentation.
- Participate in external audits, assist with Corrective Action Plans (POCA), and monitor implementation.
- Assist in internal audits, training tracking, and incident follow-up to maintain high safety standards.
Resident Care & Transition Coordination ๐ช
- Co-facilitate Admission/Discharge Committee meetings.
- Monitor resident admissions, discharges, and hospital or rehab stays, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Develop placement plans tailored to individual needs, coordinating with medical, clinical, and external partners.
- Document contacts, escalate challenges, and facilitate all required steps for resident admissions and discharges.
Team Collaboration & Management ๐ ๏ธ
- Coordinate care among disciplines respectfully and effectively.
- Respond to emergencies and fill in for vacancies or staff absences as needed.
- Support system improvements, participate in planning, and utilize performance tools like Lean Six Sigma.
- Travel to IRAs/ICF facilities as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team success.

Educational & Experience Requirements ๐
- Masterโs degree in a relevant field or advanced certification in healthcare management, administration, or quality improvement
- At least 5 years of experience working with the IDD community
- Minimum 2 years in supervisory, compliance, or quality roles
- Experience with OPWDD and DOH regulations
- Hebrew, Yiddish, or Russian-speaking skills are a plus
Technical Skills & Physical Requirements ๐ป๐โโ๏ธ
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic health records
- Ability to work on a computer, review charts, and participate in video meetings
- Must be able to visit multiple residential locations daily, navigate stairs, and respond quickly during emergencies
- Capability to lift up to 20 lbs
