Production Planning Specialist / NACUP Planner
Join our team to support the seamless operation of NACUP, the customizing center for North America, by managing production planning and operational activities to ensure timely delivery of excavators. 🚜
Project Purpose
The primary goal of this role is to assist the NACUP manager in overseeing the entire operation, including order placement, assembly scheduling, and production management for excavator components such as Base, Boom, Arm, and Bucket, manufactured in South Korea.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management 🛠️
- Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives, problem-solving, and process optimization activities.
- Consolidate and maintain monthly reports for operational activities.
- Perform semi-annual inventory audits with comprehensive physical counts of machines and parts.
- Enhance efficiency and productivity by identifying and resolving production issues to prevent delays or errors.
- Establish standard work procedures, including work sequences, workspace layouts, and organization of parts/tools.
- Focus on increasing productivity through optimization, waste reduction, cost savings, and reducing lead times.
2. Production Management 🚧
- Take immediate corrective actions for issues during production, collaborating closely with the NACUP general manager.
- Monitor daily production status, discuss issues, and implement solutions to stabilize workflows.
- Create and maintain daily production schedules, transitioning machines from SKD to CBU based on dealer orders and port arrivals.
- Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure parts and kits are staged and ready.
- Work with the Quality Team to ensure production units meet standards before shipment.
- Manage claims related to equipment damage and loss.
- Serve as the central planning hub across multiple sites (Rincon, Shippensburg, Tacoma, League City) to ensure consistent production and inventory flow.
3. Invoice & Cost Management 💰
- Identify overcharges, duplicate billing, or incorrect rates in partner invoices with keen attention to detail.
- Create expense vouchers and prepare monthly expense summaries.
4. Travel & Site Coordination ✈️
- Approximately 20% travel required to oversee production standards at various sites.
- Conduct on-site visits to Rincon, Shippensburg, Tacoma, and League City to improve workflow efficiencies.
- Travel quarterly to Norcross headquarters for strategic planning, financial reviews, and leadership meetings.
5. Administrative & Asset Management 🗃️
- Manage and track all office and warehouse assets, including vehicles, forklifts, and IT equipment.
- Coordinate with the Asset Team for proper maintenance of equipment.
- Handle procurement of operational necessities such as office supplies, warehouse consumables, and team meals.
Additional Responsibilities
- Adhere to company policies and standards in all work activities.
- Continually develop work skills and produce relevant manuals and documentation.
- Report any issues promptly and cooperate actively with subsidiaries and HQ requests.
- Maintain a strong understanding of departmental systems and resource management to resolve daily work situations effectively.
Required Qualifications ✅
- Fluent in both English and Korean (Bilingual proficiency required)
