Position: Chinese (Cantonese)/English Bilingual Teacher
Schedule: Full-time, year-round
The Chinese (Cantonese) / English Bilingual Teacher collaborates with the teaching team to create and implement developmentally appropriate curricula that cater to the interests and needs of the children. The role requires a strong understanding of child development, responsiveness to individual learning styles, and a passion for fostering bilingual language skills. 🗣️🌈
Essential Duties
- Collaborate with partner teachers to design and implement the Chinese/English curriculum using the Project Approach.
- Engage with children through large- and small-group activities conducted in English and Cantonese.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning and fun.
- Be proactive, sensitive, and mindful of children's needs, their learning process, and the environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents and actively involve them in the classroom community.
- Participate in team meetings with teaching staff, instructional coaches, and other collaborators.
- Conduct developmental assessments using the online DRDP tool, collecting supporting evidence for each measure.
- Utilize assessment results to inform curriculum planning and individual learning scaffolds.
- Create open-ended, engaging learning experiences tailored to each child's interests and needs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Eligible for a California Master Teacher Permit or higher, with a preferred advanced degree (AA or BA) in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Fluent in both spoken and written Cantonese and English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with internet navigation.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience working collaboratively within a teaching team.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 35 pounds.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education (required)
Language & Certifications

- Child Development Site Supervisor Permit (preferred)
- Early Childhood Teacher's Permit (required)
