Role Overview

We are seeking a talented Translator to assist inlocalizing our applications and content into Polish. The responsibilities include:

• Translating user interfaces of all Chess.com apps (including Chess.com, Chess.com Mobile, ChessKid, ChessKid Mobile, Dr. Wolf, etc.)
• Contributing to marketing campaign translations
• Localizing Coach analysis content
• Translating player profile pages, chess terminology, news articles (such as tournament recaps and announcements)
• Translating and editing graphical assets
• Reviewing previous translations to ensure quality and consistency

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Basic graphic editing skills 🎨
• Deep expertise in chess with thorough knowledge of its terminology
• Proven experience translating complex texts between English and Polish
• Exceptional linguistic proficiency with strong understanding of language structure and theory
• Native or near-native fluency in both English and Polish
• Excellent communication skills, responsive and collaborative on platforms like Slack
• Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines, sometimes on a 24-48 hour turnaround, including weekends and holidays
• Flexible availability to work approximately 30 hours per week
