CSL Is Hiring A Plasma Processing Technician Bilingual

Join CSL Plasma as a Plasma Collection Technician and be part of a leading global network dedicated to saving lives through plasma donation. This role ensures the quality and safety of plasma collected from donors while supporting the center's operational excellence.

The Opportunity

Responsible for the accurate and timely sampling, testing, shipping, and storage of plasma collected from donors. You'll report directly to the Assistant Center Manager.

The Role

  • Sample Collection & Handling: In compliance with SOPs, responsible for collecting plasma samples and transferring plasma units to the freezer to ensure product quality.
  • Storage & Verification: Ensure plasma units are properly stored as per SOPs, including managing unsuitable plasma units and samples.
  • Label Accuracy: Verify that pre-printed labels match dynamic labels to ensure unit labeling accuracy.
  • Sterile Technique: Use sterile techniques to draw samples and heat seal to maintain the sterility and quality of plasma units per SOPs.
  • Shipping & Disposal: May prepare samples and units for shipment or disposal, including documentation in line with SOPs and center procedures.
  • Equipment Monitoring: Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures, record variances, and promptly report issues.
  • Calibration & Recording: Conduct daily calibration of equipment and accurately record donor data in the electronic system per SOPs.
  • Policy Compliance: Understand and follow policies related to hyperimmune programs, if applicable.
  • Work Environment & Safety: Maintain a clean, efficient workspace, ensure supplies are available, and follow all HSE and OSHA policies promoting safety.
  • Confidentiality & Cross-Training: Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information. May receive cross-training in other areas.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other job-related tasks as assigned. Bilingual skills may be required based on organizational needs.

Your Skills And Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

  • At least three (3) months of experience in a laboratory or warehouse environment preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic math skills required to perform calculations.

Working Conditions (Physical & Mental Requirements)

  • Ability to understand, remember, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Capable of seeing, hearing, and communicating effectively with customers and observing equipment operation.
  • Stand and walk for up to 100% of the time, with occasional reaching, bending, kneeling, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and bloodborne pathogens.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required and support overtime or extended hours as needed.
