CSL Is Hiring A Phlebotomist Bilingual

Responsibilities:
- Efficient Plasma Collection: Responsible for the safe and effective collection of plasma by performing venipuncture, monitoring the pheresis process, and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Pheresis Procedure: Performs all aspects of the pheresis process, including donor setup, monitoring, and disconnect, in compliance with SOPs.
- Venipuncture & Guidelines: Conducts venipuncture following SOPs and FDA guidelines to initiate pheresis.
- Donor Evaluation: Assesses donor vein performance, addresses any issues, and makes adjustments to ensure an efficient, safe, and positive donation experience.
- Donor Education: Educates new donors on therapeutic plasma products, screening processes, appointment systems, fees, policies, nutrition, and answers questions professionally and accurately.
- Reaction Monitoring: Remains alert to donor reactions and provides assistance or notifies staff as needed.
- Record-Keeping: Uses PDA to document incidents, alarms, volume variances, and adverse events during pheresis.
- Equipment & Maintenance: Performs calibrations, verifies maintenance, troubleshoots equipment failures, documents incidents, and manages equipment removal/replacement.
- Donor Flow & Sampling: Oversees donor flow, alerts supervisors of flow issues, and collects samples for testing.
- Data Management: Ensures accurate recording of donor data in electronic management systems according to SOPs.
- Program Policies: Understands policies related to hyperimmune programs, if applicable.
- Work Environment & Safety: Maintains a clean, safe work environment, ensures availability of supplies, and complies with HSE and OSHA policies. Promotes safety at all times.
- Confidentiality: Upholds the confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
- Cross-Training & Bilingual Skills: May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required based on organizational needs.
- Additional Duties: Performs other relevant job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Training & Experience: Internal CSL employees must complete CSL Plasma DST training. External candidates should have at least 6 months' experience as a phlebotomist; 1 year preferred.
- Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Healthcare Experience: Minimum 12 months experience in a medical or healthcare setting is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Specialized Certification (California centers): Must be certified as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I or a current Registered Nurse licensed by the State of California.
