Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Italian-speaking Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support a lovely lady in [Location]. This role is ideal for someone energetic, caring, fluent in Italian, and eager to enhance well-being and independence in daily life. Your role will involve assisting with a variety of personal care tasks, ensuring comfort, safety, and fostering a trusting relationship through effective communication.

Primary Duties

• 🤝 Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• 🩺 Monitor health by taking vital signs and observing for changes in condition
• 🥗 Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
• 💊 Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA regulations
• 🧹 Perform light housekeeping such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
• 💬 Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
• 🛏️ Ensure safe transfers and mobility using specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts

Experience & Qualifications

• 💼 Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is preferred
• 🧠 Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, and hospice care is highly desirable
• 🔬 Familiar with patient observation techniques and care plan development
• 👩‍🦽 Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus
• 📝 Certification in CPR, first aid, and HIPAA compliance required or willingness to obtain upon hire
• 💪 Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks
• 🗣️ Strong communication skills in Italian; proficiency in English is advantageous
