About the Role
Our next Payroll and HR Coordinator will be a dynamo — fluent in both English and Spanish, capable of running payroll within the first three days each week, and handling HR basics such as onboarding and background checks. This role involves visiting up to five locations across the Greater Bay Area to train field staff on using their new mobile time-keeping application: ADP with Econz.

Bonus Points 🎯
- Deep experience with ADP Payroll (preferably WorkforceGo with Econz).
- Courses in accounting, finance, economics, or business.
- Living near our South Berkeley headquarters.
- Excel skills such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.
- Experience auditing payroll for compliance.
Essential Functions
- Process payroll for approximately 90 employees weekly and bi-weekly for salaried staff.
- Train field staff on the ADP mobile application at multiple locations.
- Work on-site in a multi-floor building without elevator access, going up and down stairs multiple times daily.
- Ensure accurate payroll processing, including overtime, bonuses, taxes, 401(k), and health premiums.
- Implement and maintain the latest ADP software versions.
- Create detailed reports on deductions, taxes, and more.
- Review payroll data for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with external HR consultants on benefits, wages, records, and tax forms.
- Coordinate with other office managers on related tasks.
- Perform additional payroll and HR duties as needed.
Basic Requirements ✅
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Experience in payroll and HR functions.
- Reliable transportation to Berkeley and remote sites from San Jose to Martinez, CA.
- Physically capable of walking stairs multiple times daily and working standing or sitting for up to 8 hours.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Compensation & Benefits 💰
This is a full-time, permanent position offering 100% paid medical, dental, and optical insurance after 90 days. Benefits include PTO, sick leave, holidays, referral bonuses, employee discounts, training funds, a 401(k), and an opportunity to shape our company culture.
The hourly rate range is $30.00 to $37.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience, especially for candidates with managerial backgrounds such as Payroll Manager or HR Generalist.
