Position Summary

We are currently hiring a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our team at St. Lawrence Community Health Center. The PSR plays a vital role by providing information, support, encouragement, and assistance to patients and their families as they arrive at our healthcare facility. This role involves greeting and registering patients and visitors, verifying and recording patient information, and offering comfort and empathy while maintaining a welcoming waiting room environment. The PSR also provides accurate information, schedules appointments, and addresses patient concerns to ensure a seamless experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience with clerical or administrative functions, ideally in a healthcare setting
• Bilingual Spanish/English is required
• Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver exceptional patient experiences
• Understanding of phone etiquette and standard office procedures
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Key Duties

• Greet patients and identify their needs 🤝
• Verify insurance information through managed care websites
• Answer incoming calls and relay messages to providers 📞
• Register patients, assign PCP when applicable, check and update demographic information
• Schedule and reschedule appointments
• Maintain charts and provide administrative support to the department

Work Environment & Schedule

🔹 Location: On-site in the Bronx

🔹 Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
