- Job Title: Patient Coordinator - Arabic Fluency
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks with the possibility of extension
- Shift: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM
- Location: New York, NY
- Onboarding Time: 2-3 weeks from offer acceptance to start date
- Pay Rate: $36 - $40 per hour 💰
🔍 About the Patient Coordinator - Arabic Fluency
As a primary contact, you will coordinate the care for international patients at NYP, managing the full referral process—from initial inquiry to post-service follow-up. You'll provide personalized assistance, ensuring a culturally sensitive approach, and act as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and external organizations, including embassies and medical schools.
🎯 Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, International Relations, or related field
- Training & Certification: 40+ hours of medical interpreter training, health language proficiency assessment, or national certification; Arabic medical interpretation certification required
- Experience: 3-5 years in patient services, healthcare, public relations, or hospitality industry with direct public contact
- Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Arabic (verbal and written) ✅
- Other Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills, cross-cultural sensitivity
📝 Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess requests for medical services and support development of care plans
- Coordinate with hospital departments, physicians, and patients throughout the treatment process
- Manage appointment scheduling and travel arrangements
- Represent the department in dealings with embassy personnel and international dignitaries
- Provide immediate assistance and orientation upon patient arrival
- Support registration and financial clearance processes
- Escort patients during appointments and inpatient visits, providing real-time interpretation services
- Maintain comprehensive electronic patient records in the International Patient Record System (IPRS)
- Address and resolve patient concerns or complaints, coordinating follow-up actions
- Conduct post-discharge follow-up, ensuring patients receive all necessary documentation and support
- Update clinical status to financial guarantors weekly and daily during inpatient rounds
- Assist with marketing activities, such as presentations to healthcare and corporate audiences
- Perform other related duties as assigned
