Key Responsibilities
- Express sincere concern and empathy when handling customer complaints. 💬
- Access systems and services to verify insurance or other payments.
- Communicate scheduling updates promptly and professionally to patients and staff.
- Inform patients about payroll authorization and referral procedures.
- Explain insurance benefits and patient liabilities clearly.
- Report safety hazards and take necessary actions to maintain a secure environment.
- Maintain high accuracy and productivity while improving workflow efficiency. ⚙️
- Recognize when issues need escalation and involve others for resolution.
- Guide patients through Inova Financial Assistance applications and inquiries.
- Scan and process relevant Financial Assistance documents.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: 1 year in healthcare patient access, healthcare revenue cycle, or a bachelor's degree
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish
Additional Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients at the front desk, creating a welcoming environment. 😊
- Explain financial assistance programs and eligibility criteria.
- Assist patients with financial aid applications, ensuring a smooth process.
- Keep accurate records of patient interactions and assistance applications.
- Coordinate with the PHC team to address access barriers.
- Promote awareness of Inova's accessible healthcare initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Perform any additional administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency: Spanish and English required; additional languages desirable.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare-related education preferred.
- Experience: Prior customer-facing experience in healthcare preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Attributes: Empathy, patience, flexibility, and a patient-centric approach.
- Legal: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
