Inova Cares for Families – Annandale is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Associate 2 – Bilingual to join our team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional patient service in a dynamic healthcare environment, working Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

About the Role

As a Patient Access Associate 2, you will uphold Inova Health System’s "Service Excellence" standards by admitting and scheduling patients, verifying insurance coverage, and offering financial counseling. Your role is vital in ensuring patient safety through effective problem solving and communication. Active listening and empathetic engagement, especially when handling customer complaints, are key responsibilities in this position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Express genuine concern and empathy when addressing customer complaints 🤝
  • Access relevant systems to verify insurance coverage and payment methods 💻
  • Communicate scheduling changes effectively to patients, staff, physicians, and representatives 📞
  • Identify and explain payroll authorization and referral requirements to patients 📝
  • Clarify insurance benefits and patient financial responsibilities using appropriate communication styles 🗣️
  • Report safety hazards or violations and take immediate action to ensure a safe environment until help arrives 🚧
  • Maintain high accuracy and volume of work while improving workflows to minimize errors and inefficiencies 🔄
  • Recognize when issues need escalation and involve the appropriate team members for resolution ⚠️

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: At least 1 year in healthcare patient access, healthcare revenue cycle, or a bachelor’s degree

Preferred Requirements

Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred to better serve our diverse patient population. 🌎
