Basic Functions

Essential Responsibilities 🎯

Provide high-quality instruction and foster an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning. Encourage open discussion and exchange of ideas, interests, and issues among students.

Primary Duties

• Develop and deliver curriculum for both lecture and lab classes, as determined by the department.
• Be available to students outside of scheduled class times for assistance and guidance.

Salary Rate Details 💰

The starting salary rates from salary table 11 are:

• Lecture: $102.90 per hour
• Lab: $82.33 per hour

If you hold a doctorate, the rates increase to:

• Lecture: $107.87 per hour
• Lab: $86.30 per hour

Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 📚

• Master's degree in the language being taught OR
• Bachelor's degree in the language plus a Master's in another language or linguistics OR
• The equivalent of the above qualifications.

For those claiming equivalency, a separate statement justifying the claim and supporting evidence such as transcripts or publications must be submitted.

Additional Qualifications

• Demonstrated sensitivity and understanding of diverse backgrounds and identities among community college students and staff.
• Evidence of educational and experiential equivalency when applicable, including submission of an Application for Equivalency and supporting documentation.
