Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy is a pluralistic Jewish day school serving students in grades 6-12 in the Bryn Mawr, PA area, part of the dynamic metropolitan Philadelphia region. As the leading Jewish day school in the Delaware Valley, we draw students from Philadelphia, its suburbs, Allentown, New Jersey, and Delaware.
Our school offers a comprehensive, college preparatory curriculum intertwined with the teaching of core Jewish and American values and texts. Position: Part-Time Hebrew Teacher & Advisor
Starting September 2025, we seek an experienced, dynamic, and caring educator to join our community as a part-time Middle School and High School Hebrew teacher and advisor. The ideal candidate will:
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Develop student-centered curricula
- Foster a growth mindset in students
- Create an inclusive environment where students feel safe to take risks
- Pursue professional growth through teamwork, development opportunities, and collaboration
- Bring energy and enthusiasm to teaching middle and high school students
Desired Skills, Experience, & Education
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong background in Middle and Upper School education
- Completion of Bishvil HaIvrit (NETA) training or willingness to complete it this summer
- Ability to teach Hebrew at different proficiency levels
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented, collaborative attitude
- Positive work ethic and reliability
- Strong time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in technology such as Google Workspace, presentation tools, web navigation, and email management
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (note: no sponsorship provided)
