The Role 🎯
We are looking for our first Japan Market Expansion Lead to establish and grow our presence in Japan. This is a 0 → 1 role — you will own market entry, build our pipeline, and secure our initial customers in the region. The role involves a minimum 6-month overseas posting to Japan on a relocation basis.
What You’ll Do 🔍
- Build and lead our Japan go-to-market strategy from scratch
- Conduct customer discovery with merchants and platforms
- Generate sales pipeline and onboard early design partners / pilot customers
- Identify unique fraud, payments, and acceptance challenges in the Japanese market
- Localize product positioning and outreach to resonate with Japanese clients
- Develop a repeatable Japan-specific playbook for future expansion
What We’re Looking For 🎓
- 1–4 years experience in sales or business development within SaaS, fintech, or payments
- Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English
- Experience with quota-carrying roles (SDR/BDR/AE)
- Proven ability to build and succeed from 0 → 1 in a new market
- Independent, self-starter capable of operating in unstructured environments
Eligibility Requirements ✅
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Limited prior work experience in the Japanese market, aligned with overseas expansion goals
- Willingness to commit to a minimum 6-month overseas posting in Japan

Compensation & Perks 💰
Salary Range: SGD 6,500–9,000/month, based on experience.
