Position: Part-Time Bilingual Outreach Coordinator (Spanish)
As the frontline connector, you will support Malama’s outreach and enrollment efforts by engaging with members through various communication channels. If you’re organized, empathetic, and thrive in high-touch workflows, this role may be perfect for you.
Role Responsibilities
Member Outreach & Engagement 🤝
- Respond promptly: Address inbound calls/messages within 24 hours (SLAs)
- Follow-up: Conduct structured outbound follow-ups with up to 3 attempts within 7 days
- Communication: Engage with pregnant and postpartum members with clarity, compassion, and sensitivity
Eligibility Screening & Enrollment Support 🎯
- Verify insurance coverage via portals and gather basic eligibility details (e.g., pregnancy/postpartum status)
- Guide members through eligibility assessment and intake processes, assisting with questionnaires as needed
- Set expectations, and provide alternative resources for ineligible members (e.g., doula matching, resource navigation)
Care Coordination & Handoffs 🤗
- Schedule, confirm, and prepare members for next-step appointments (e.g., New Mother Visit)
- Ensure seamless handoffs to the appropriate care team
- Maintain detailed documentation of outreach attempts, outcomes, and member preferences
Documentation & Communication 📋
- Record outcomes in Malama’s EHR and internal tracking tools accurately
- Coordinate updates with internal teams while safeguarding member privacy following HIPAA standards
Provider & Referrer Follow-up 🔄 (as needed)
- Communicate with referring providers regarding enrollment status and next steps
- Ensure clear and timely documentation of all interactions
Requirements ✅
- Bilingual Spanish: Spoken and written proficiency required
- Experience: 1+ year in outreach, care coordination, customer support, or call center operations (healthcare preferred)
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication with high empathy and professionalism
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with structured workflows and SLAs
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and reliable follow-through
- Tools: Familiarity with CRM, portals, Slack, and tracking systems
- Mission-Driven: Passionate about health, technology, and advancing birth equity
Preferred Qualifications 🌟
- Experience with Medi-Cal, WIC, FQHCs, or community-based maternal health programs
- Knowledge of PHI management and HIPAA compliance
- Proficiency in EHR documentation and handling high-volume outreach queues
What We Offer 🎁
- Compensation: $20–$24/hour + performance bonus
- Hours: Approximately 15–25 hours per week (part-time)
- Work Arrangement: Fully remote
