We are seeking qualified language instructors for various world languages, excluding Spanish, to join our dynamic team for upcoming semesters.
Position Overview
The Department of World Languages and Literatures at Texas State University is building a pool of temporary and non-tenured faculty with expertise in world languages. We offer majors and minors in languages such as Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Chinese, Italian, and Japanese. Successful candidates will teach courses in their language expertise and participate in our vibrant academic community.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach 1 to 4 courses per semester based on student demand
- Contribute to departmental curriculum and student engagement
- Potentially teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses or online

This posting applies to the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. Please note that current departmental needs may vary, and positions are contingent upon funding and departmental requirements.

Qualifications
Required
- A minimum of a master’s degree
- At least 18 graduate hours in the teaching language field
Preferred
- Ph.D. or ABD (All But Dissertation) in the relevant language area
- Previous teaching experience
