Job Description 📝
- Design and Architect Enterprise Networks: Lead planning and implementation of scalable, secure networks using Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms, tailored for high-demand environments.
- Manage Advanced Routing & Switching Protocols: Configure and optimize protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and EVPN for efficient traffic flow across global sites.
- Implement and Maintain F5 Load Balancing Solutions: Deploy and manage F5 appliances, including writing custom iRules scripting for application resilience and performance.
- Troubleshoot Critical Network Issues: Serve as an escalation point for diagnosing and resolving connectivity problems, hardware failures, and VPN disruptions.
- Secure Network Infrastructure: Enforce security practices using IPSec, 802.1x, TACACS+, and firewalls, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Support Multicast and Manufacturing-Specific Protocols: Configure multicast technologies such as PIM, MSDP, and Anycast-RP to support real-time data in manufacturing environments.
- Lead Network Upgrades and Migrations: Manage hardware/software refreshes and network migrations with minimal downtime.
- Collaborate Across Teams and Vendors: Coordinate with internal teams, ISPs, and vendors to facilitate maintenance, escalation resolution, and RMA processes.
- Document and Standardize Network Operations: Maintain detailed diagrams, configurations, and SOPs for audit and troubleshooting purposes.
- Mentor and Develop Team Talent: Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to junior engineers to promote operational excellence.
Qualifications 🎓
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in large-scale enterprise networks, focusing on Cisco devices (Catalyst, Nexus), Firewalls, and Load Balancers.
- CCNP Enterprise or CCIE certification (current or expired within the last 3 years).
- Extensive knowledge of routing protocols and network technologies.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex network issues, including hardware, L3/L2, and VPN connectivity.
- Experience with PIM, MSDP, Anycast-RP, and multicast in manufacturing settings.
- Experience with network monitoring tools.
- Strong customer focus with ownership, urgency, responsibility, and a passion for mentoring.
- Residency within a 1-hour drive of Taylor, TX, and ability to commute 5 days a week.
Preferred Qualifications ⭐
- Experience supporting networks in large manufacturing environments, especially with 24/7 operations.
- Expertise in high availability network environments.
- Background in server network connectivity (Teaming, VPC, LACP).
- Experience with F5 Load Balancing setups, including iRules.
- Knowledge of Packet Capture Analysis, SSL certificates.
- F5 Load Balancer or Palo Alto Firewalls certification with at least 5 years of hands-on experience.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.) is advantageous.
