Role Summary: School Leader
We seek a dedicated and visionary school leader to collaborate with our talented staff, fostering a culture of high achievement, inclusion, and growth. Ideal candidates will be committed to antiracist leadership, valuing family, student, and staff voices, modeling core values, and building meaningful relationships while delivering tangible results.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Leadership, Strategic Planning, and Systems Implementation 🚀 (25%)
- Inspire staff and scholars to work towards the school’s vision, embodying core beliefs and values.
- Develop staff capacity for supporting academic achievement through effective curricula and interventions.
- Lead the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to ensure inclusive instruction, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health services.
- Ensure equitable access for all subgroups, prioritizing scholars with disabilities and emergent bilinguals.
- Build and support a collaborative leadership team, fostering collective capacity and overseeing complex projects.
- Facilitate change management and stakeholder engagement to sustain growth and buy-in.
- Oversee school programs, including external partnerships and extended learning initiatives.
- Lead strategic planning and compliance processes such as LAUSD oversight, LCAP, and SPSA.
Coaching, Professional Development, and Performance Management 📈 (25%)
- Conduct regular observations and provide constructive feedback aligned to goals and rubrics.
- Design and implement professional learning opportunities tailored to staff needs.
- Oversee faculty and staff evaluations and support performance growth.
- Hire, retain, and nurture effective staff, promoting leadership development.
School Culture and Stakeholder Engagement 🤝 (15%)
- Foster a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism across all school facets.
- Implement restorative practices to promote healthy relationships and community healing.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for students, families, staff, and community members.
- Build authentic partnerships with families and community organizations.
- Empower stakeholder participation through advisory bodies like SSC and ELAC.
Assessment and Data Analysis 📊 (15%)
- Manage assessment systems aligned with school goals, fostering shared accountability.
- Support staff in using diverse data sources for targeted instruction and interventions.
- Guide staff and families in understanding scholar progress and goal achievement.
- Create and monitor dashboards to inform continuous improvement efforts.
Professional Growth and Network Collaboration 🌐 (15%)
- Engage in ongoing professional development, mentoring, and research.
- Build staff capacity to seek feedback, reflect, and adjust practices.
- Collaborate with network leaders to share best practices and foster professional relationships.
Other Duties & Flexibility (5%)
The ability to adapt to shifting priorities and unexpected challenges, maintaining a flexible and proactive approach, is essential. This role is dynamic, and responsibilities may evolve accordingly.
Reporting Relationships
- The Principal reports to the Chief Schools Officer and collaborates with Network Office staff.
- Instructional staff report directly or indirectly through leadership channels.
- The Principal partners with the School Operations Manager to oversee operations staff.
Minimum Qualifications 🎓
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience; 5+ preferred, with proven student success
- Previous management experience at Equitas Academy preferred
Preferred Qualifications 🌟
- California teaching credential (highly preferred)
- California administrative credential or equivalent training
- Master’s or Doctorate in education (preferred)
- Experience in marginalized communities (preferred)
- Fluency in Spanish (preferred)

Compensation & Salary 💰
Starting at $124,605 annually, our transparent and competitive Principal Salary Scale offers a compelling package.
