About the Role ✨
The Medical Receptionist (Care Facilitator) is often the first point of contact for patients, serving as an advocate and delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves greeting patients, managing schedules, and providing administrative support to ensure a smooth patient experience. The ideal candidate is committed to high-quality service, builds trust, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities 🚩
- Patient Interaction: Greet, check-in, check-out, and schedule appointments, ensuring lobby organization and cleanliness.
- Scheduling: Manage PCP and Specialist schedules, prioritizing top patients every 13 days.
- Administrative Tasks: Use computer systems to update patient records, prepare forms, respond to emails, and generate new patient packets.
- Patient Engagement: Make “love” calls, send birthday and greeting cards for special occasions.
- Communication: Answer phones, take detailed messages, and relay information clearly to staff and patients.
- Insurance & Payments: Verify insurance, collect copays, and assist with scheduling follow-up or referral appointments.
- Patient Comfort & Support: Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure their well-being.
- Quality & Reporting: Act as HEDIS champion, monitor hospitalizations, and report on patient metrics.
- Customer Service: Present surveys during check-out and escalate issues as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in huddles and communicate patient updates effectively.
- Transportation Coordination: Manage transportation logistics, including Uber/Lyft rides and medication deliveries.
Additional Responsibilities 📝
- Maintain patient confidentiality and record accuracy.
- Handle correspondence via mail, email, or fax.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills & Qualifications 🌟
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Vietnamese.
- Knowledge of medical insurance and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Familiarity with ChenMed’s products, policies, and procedures.
- Proficient in using phones, computers, and standard software (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Positive, professional attitude and strong listening skills.
- Availability to travel up to 10% regional/local.
Education & Experience 🎓
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting required.
- BLS certification for Healthcare Providers preferred.
Compensation & Benefits 💰
The pay range for this position is $14.30 - $20.42 per hour. Final compensation depends on experience, education, and location. The role may qualify for bonuses or commissions.
