Position Overview: Medical Receptionist (Care Facilitator)
This role is often a patient’s first contact with the ChenMed family. As a Care Facilitator, you serve as a patient advocate, delivering exceptional customer service. Your responsibilities include checking patients in and out, providing basic administrative support, and building trusting relationships with patients. Bilingual fluency in English and Vietnamese (both written and verbal) is required.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, record information during check-in/out, schedule appointments, and conduct lobby checks to maintain organization and cleanliness. 🏥
- Schedule Management: Manage PCP and specialist schedules, ensuring top patients are scheduled every 13 days.
- Administrative Tasks: Use computer systems to add patient information, print forms, respond to emails, and generate new patient packets. Ensure contact info is accurate.
- Patient Engagement: Conduct “love” calls, send birthday and greeting cards for special occasions.
- Communication: Answer phones, take detailed messages, and communicate information clearly about ChenMed staff and services.
- Insurance & Scheduling: Verify insurance, collect copays, and assist with follow-ups and referrals.
- Patient Escort & Comfort: Escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Quality & Reporting: Act as a HEDIS champion, monitor hospitalizations, and report on relevant metrics such as HITS census and ENS Ping.
- Patient Feedback & Team Huddles: Present patient surveys during checkout and participate in daily/weekly team huddles.
- Transportation Coordination: Manage driver schedules, medication and grocery deliveries, and coordinate Uber/Lyft rides for patients.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
- Review patient data for accuracy and completeness.
- Transmit correspondence via mail, email, or fax.
- Perform other duties as assigned or modified by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional customer service and a passion for serving others. 🌟
- Knowledge of medical insurance and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Familiarity with ChenMed’s products, services, policies, and procedures.
- Proficient in operating phones, computers, and basic IT systems.
- Professional and courteous communication with staff and patients.
- Attention to detail for accurate reports and data entry.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, professional attitude and willingness to travel up to 10% regionally.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Vietnamese (spoken and written).
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Graduation from a recognized Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical clinic or similar environment.
- BLS certification for Healthcare Providers is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
The hourly pay range is $14.30 – $20.42. Final compensation depends on experience, education, location, and other factors. This role may be eligible for bonuses or commissions.
