Position Overview
The Medical Receptionist (Care Facilitator) is often the first point of contact for our patients. This role involves delivering exceptional customer service, advocating for patients, and supporting administrative operations within the clinic. A successful candidate is dedicated to building trust and ensuring positive patient interactions.
Requirements
- Fluent in both written and verbal English and Vietnamese
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Previous experience in a medical or administrative setting (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant medical experience
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% regionally
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet, check-in, check-out, schedule appointments, and conduct lobby checks to ensure cleanliness and organization.
- Schedule Management: Act as gatekeeper for PCP and specialist schedules, ensuring timely appointments for top patients.
- Administrative Support: Use computer systems to update patient records, print forms, respond to emails, and manage new patient packets.
- Patient Engagement: Make "love" calls, send birthday and greeting cards to commemorate special events.
- Communication: Answer phones, take messages, and relay information clearly to clinical staff and patients.
- Insurance & Payments: Verify insurance, collect copays, and assist with scheduling follow-ups and referrals.
- Patient Comfort & Care: Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure their well-being before leaving.
- Quality & Data: Act as HEDIS champion, monitor hospitalizations, and report pertinent data.
- Customer Satisfaction: Present survey forms during checkout and handle escalations promptly.
- Team Participation: Engage in daily/weekly huddles to discuss patient updates.
- Transportation Coordination: Manage patient transportation, medication deliveries, and ride scheduling via Uber/Lyft.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain patient confidentiality and secure medical records.
- Review and verify patient information for accuracy and completeness.
- Transmit correspondence via mail, email, or fax.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of medical insurance and EMR systems
- Familiarity with ChenMed's products, policies, and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to operate phones, computers, and other IT tools
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data management
- Strong listening skills and professional demeanor
- Willingness to travel regionally as needed
Compensation & Benefits
The hourly pay range for this position is $14.30 - $20.42. Final compensation depends on experience, education, and location. Additional bonuses or commissions may apply. View Employee Benefits.
