About the Role: Medical Receptionist (Care Facilitator) 🏥
The Medical Receptionist, also known as a Care Facilitator, is often the first point of contact for our patients. This role serves as an advocate, delivering exceptional customer service, and building trusting relationships with our patients. Fluency in both English and Vietnamese (written and verbal) is required.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities 🎯
- Patient Interaction: Greet, check-in/check-out patients, schedule appointments, and maintain lobby organization and cleanliness.
- Schedule Management: Serve as gatekeeper for PCP and Specialist schedules, ensuring top patients are scheduled every 13 days.
- Data Entry & Communication: Use computer systems to input patient data, print forms, respond to emails, and prepare new patient packets.
- Patient Appreciation: Make “love” calls, and mail birthday and greeting cards to celebrate special occasions.
- Telephone & Messaging: Answer calls, take accurate messages, and direct communications appropriately.
- Insurance & Appointments: Verify insurance, collect copays, and assist with follow-up and referral appointments.
- Patient Escort & Comfort: Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure their well-being.
- HEDIS & Reporting: Act as HEDIS champion, monitor hospitalizations, and report relevant data.
- Customer Service & Feedback: Present satisfaction surveys during check-out and escalate issues for immediate resolution.
- Team Participation: Engage in daily and weekly huddles to discuss patient care and operations.
- Transportation Coordination: Manage and monitor transportation services, including Uber/Lyft rides, medication and grocery deliveries, and driver coordination.
Additional responsibilities may include maintaining confidentiality, reviewing patient information, transmitting correspondence, and other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities 🌟
- Exceptional customer service and a passion for helping others
- Familiarity with medical insurance and EMR systems
- Understanding of ChenMed products, services, policies, and procedures
- Proficiency in operating phones, computers, and software applications
- Professional and courteous communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong reporting accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Active listening skills and a positive attitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Willingness to travel up to 10% regionally
- Bilingual fluency in English and Vietnamese (spoken and written)
Education & Experience 🎓
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical clinic or similar setting required
- BLS certification for Healthcare Providers preferred
Compensation & Benefits 💵
The hourly pay range for this position is $14.30 - $20.42. Final salary will depend on experience, education, location, and other relevant factors. Bonus or commission opportunities may also be available.
