About the Role: Medical Receptionist (Care Facilitator)
As one of the first points of contact for patients at ChenMed, the Medical Receptionist (Care Facilitator) plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and fostering trusting relationships. This position involves administrative duties, patient advocacy, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, check-in and check-out, schedule appointments, and conduct lobby checks to maintain organization and cleanliness.
- Schedule Management: Act as gatekeeper for PCP and specialist schedules, ensuring top priority patients are seen within 13 days.
- Administrative Support: Update patient data, print forms, respond to emails, and prepare New Patient packets using computer systems.
- Patient Engagement: Make "love" calls, send birthday and greeting cards to celebrate special occasions.
- Communication: Answer phone calls, take detailed messages, and relay information about ChenMed clinical personnel.
- Insurance & Payments: Verify insurance, collect copays, and assist with follow-ups and referrals.
- Patient Comfort: Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure their well-being.
- HEDIS & Reporting: Monitor HEDIS metrics and report hospitalizations, census, and other relevant data.
- Customer Service & Escalation: Distribute surveys, address issues, and participate in daily team huddles.
- Other Duties: Manage transportation logistics, including Uber/Lyft rides, medication, and grocery deliveries.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining patient confidentiality, reviewing records, transmitting correspondence, and supporting other tasks as needed by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional customer service skills and a caring attitude ❤️
- Working knowledge of medical insurance and EMR systems
- Familiarity with ChenMed products, policies, and procedures
- Proficiency in operating phones, computers, and basic IT software
- Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Fluency in both English and Vietnamese (verbal and written) 🗣️
- Willingness to travel up to 10% regionally
- Positive, professional attitude
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program (preferred)
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical setting (required)
- BLS certification (preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
The hourly pay range for this position is $14.30 - $20.42. Final salary offers depend on experience, location, and other factors. This role may also be eligible for bonuses or commissions.
