Role Overview

The Medical Receptionist, aka Care Facilitator, is often a patient's first contact with ChenMed and acts as their advocate by providing exceptional customer service. This role involves checking patients in and out, offering administrative support, and building trusting relationships. 🤝

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Patient Interaction: Greet, check-in, check-out, schedule appointments, and ensure lobby organization.
  • Schedule Management: Serve as gatekeeper for PCP and specialist schedules, ensuring top patients are scheduled every 13 days.
  • Data Entry & Communication: Use computer systems to update patient info, print forms, respond to emails, and prepare new patient packets.
  • Patient Engagement: Conduct "love" calls, send birthday and greeting cards for special occasions.
  • Phone & Message Handling: Answer calls, take detailed messages, and direct communications appropriately.
  • Insurance & Appointments: Verify insurance, collect copays, and assist with follow-up and specialist referrals.
  • Patient Comfort & Support: Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure well-being prior to their examination.
  • Quality & Compliance: Act as HEDIS champion, monitor hospitalizations, and report on patient care metrics.
  • Customer Feedback: Present survey forms during checkout and escalate issues for immediate resolution if needed.
  • Team Participation: Join daily and weekly huddles to update on patient statuses.
  • Transportation Coordination: Manage driver schedules, deliveries, and rideshare arrangements for patients.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and records.
  • Review and verify patient data for accuracy.
  • Transmit correspondence via mail, email, or fax.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional customer service and passion for serving others 💖
  • Proficiency with medical insurance, EMR systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication, listening, and professional etiquette skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in report and data management
  • Ability to travel regionally up to 10%
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English and Vietnamese 🗣️🇻🇳

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 🎓
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical or similar environment
  • BLS certification for Healthcare Providers is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $14.30 – $20.42 per hour 💰

Final compensation depends on experience, education, location, and other factors. This role may also be eligible for bonuses or commissions.
