Position Overview: Bilingual Medical Receptionist (Care Facilitator) 🎉

The Medical Receptionist (Care Facilitator) is often the first contact for our patients, acting as their advocate and delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves checking patients in and out, providing administrative support, and building trusting relationships through every interaction.

Note: This position requires fluency in both English and Vietnamese, written and verbal.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Patient Interaction: Greet patients, record information, check-in/out, schedule appointments, and conduct lobby checks for organization and cleanliness.
• Schedule Management: Serve as gatekeeper for PCP and specialist schedules; ensure top-priority patients are scheduled on time.
• Administrative Support: Use computer systems to input patient data, print forms, respond to emails, and prepare new patient packets.
• Patient Engagement: Make “love” calls, send birthday and greeting cards to commemorate special events.
• Communication: Answer phone calls, take detailed messages, and relay information accurately.
• Insurance & Payments: Verify insurance, collect copays, and assist with follow-up appointments and referrals.
• Patient Comfort & Advocacy: Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure their comfort and well-being.
• HEDIS & Reporting: Act as a champion for HEDIS by monitoring scheduled patients and reporting hospitalizations and census data.
• Customer Service & Feedback: Provide patients with surveys during check-out and escalate issues if needed.
• Team Communication: Participate in daily and weekly huddles to share patient updates.
• Transportation Coordination: Manage driver lists, medication and grocery deliveries, and coordinate Uber/Lyft rides for patients.

Other Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and medical records 🔒
• Review and verify patient details for accuracy
• Transmit correspondence via mail, email, or fax
• Perform additional duties as assigned at the manager’s discretion

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 🧠

• Exceptional customer service and a passion for helping others
• Working knowledge of medical insurance and EMR systems
• Understanding of ChenMed products, services, policies, and standards
• Proficiency in operating phones, computers, and IT software
• Professional and courteous communication skills
• Attention to detail for data accuracy
• Outstanding verbal and written skills, plus strong listening skills
• Positive, professional attitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Willingness to travel up to 10% regionally
• Fluency in both English and Vietnamese (spoken and written)

Education & Experience Criteria 🎓

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
• At least 1 year of experience in a medical clinic or similar setting required
• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers preferred

Compensation & Benefits 💰

The hourly pay range for this position is $14.30 - $20.42. Final compensation depends on experience, education, location, and other factors. This role may include bonuses or commissions.
