Position: Medical Receptionist (Care Facilitator)
This vital role puts you at the forefront of patient engagement — serving as a first contact, a patient advocate, and a trusted member of our care team. Fluency in English and Vietnamese, both written and verbal, is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet, check-in, and check-out patients; schedule appointments; ensure lobby organization and cleanliness.
- Schedule Management: Serve as gatekeeper for PCP and Specialist schedules, including ensuring top 40 patients are scheduled every 13 days.
- Administrative Support: Use computer systems to add patient info, print forms, respond to emails, and prepare New Patient packets.
- Patient Engagement: Make "love" calls, mail birthday and greeting cards to celebrate special occasions.
- Communication: Answer phones, take accurate messages, and relay information about ChenMed staff to patients.
- Insurance & Scheduling: Verify insurance, collect copays, and assist with follow-up and specialist referrals.
- Patient Comfort & Advocacy: Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure their well-being.
- HEDIS & Reporting: Monitor HEDIS metrics, report hospitalizations, and stay proactive about patient care quality.
- Customer Service: Present surveys during check out, escalate issues for immediate resolution.
- Team Participation: Join daily and weekly huddles, providing updates on patient care.
- Transportation Coordination: Manage driver schedules, medication/grocery deliveries, and arrange Uber/Lyft rides for patients.
Additional Duties
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records and personal information.
- Review and verify patient data for accuracy.
- Transmit correspondence via mail, email, or fax.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent customer service skills & passion for helping others 🌟
- Knowledge of medical insurance and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Understanding of ChenMed policies, standards, and services
- Proficiency in operating phones, computers, and basic IT systems 💻
- Strong communication skills—professional, courteous, and clear
- Attention to detail for accurate data management
- Outstanding verbal and written communication
- Active listening skills
- Positive attitude and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Willingness to travel up to 10% regionally/locally
- Fluency in English and Vietnamese (spoken & written) 🗣️
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required 🎓
- Graduation from a certified Medical Assistant program preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical environment
- BLS certification for Healthcare Providers is a plus
Compensation
Hourly Range: $14.30 – $20.42
Final pay rate depends on experience, education, location, and other factors. Bonus or commission eligibility may also apply.
