About the Role
The Medical Receptionist (Care Facilitator) is often the first face patients see, serving as an advocate and delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves checking patients in and out, providing administrative support, and building trusting relationships with those we serve.
Note: This position requires bilingual proficiency in English and Cantonese.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greeting patients, recording information, managing check-ins/check-outs, scheduling appointments, and maintaining lobby organization.
- Schedule Management: Serving as gatekeeper for PCP and Specialist schedules, ensuring top patients are scheduled every 13 days.
- Administrative Support: Using system software to update patient data, print forms, respond to emails, and prepare new patient packets.
- Patient Engagement: Making "love" calls, sending birthday and holiday greetings, and commemorating special events.
- Communication & Verification: Handling phone inquiries, verifying insurance, collecting copays, and scheduling referrals.
- Patient Comfort: Escorting patients to exam rooms and ensuring their well-being.
- Quality & Reporting: Acting as HEDIS champion, monitoring hospitalizations, and reporting on key metrics.
- Customer Service: Gathering patient feedback during checkout and addressing concerns promptly.
- Team Collaboration: Participating in daily huddles and providing patient updates.
- Transportation Coordination: Managing driver lists, medication and grocery deliveries, and scheduling Uber/Lyft rides for patients.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
- Ensuring completeness and accuracy of patient data.
- Transmitting correspondence via mail, email, or fax.
- Performing other duties as assigned or modified by management.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for helping others ❤️
- Working knowledge of medical insurance and electronic medical records (EMR systems).
- Understanding of ChenMed products, services, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency in operating phones, computers, and standard IT systems.
- Professional and courteous communication with staff and patients.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure data accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills 🗣️✉️
- Active listening skills and a positive attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Fluency in English and Cantonese, both spoken and written.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% regionally.
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required 🎓
- Graduate of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical clinic or similar setting 🩺
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers preferred
Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this role is $14.30 - $20.42 per hour. Final compensation depends on experience, education, location, and other factors. The position may also be eligible for bonuses or commissions.
