Job Description 📝

Medical Assistants perform clinical and administrative tasks essential for efficient center operations. Their work ensures high-quality client services, informed consent, client education, counseling, clinical support, and smooth client flow within a professional healthcare environment.

Responsibilities ✅

• Provide direct patient care across all health center service areas, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures, Clinical Workflow guidelines, and Medical Standards.
• Deliver empathetic, non-judgmental educational counseling sessions. Review and distribute educational materials related to visits, services, procedures, and contraceptive choices.
• Offer information about STI risks, pregnancy, and contraceptive options, aligned with the patient's values.
• Ensure informed consent through education about procedures, tests, and contraceptive methods, ensuring patient understanding of risks and complications.
• Confirm patient decision-making regarding services and obtain all necessary consents, documenting decisions appropriately.
• Assist during medical examinations as required.
• Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and multi-task efficiently.

Customer Service 🌟

• Uphold PPM customer service standards.
• Exhibit social perceptiveness and a service-oriented attitude.
• Greet clients politely, provide correct registration and check-out information.

Health Center Operations 🚑

• Prepare for upcoming appointments, including confirmation calls and insurance verification.
• Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software; familiarity with Epic is helpful.

Team Collaboration 🤝

• Engage with employees, patients, and outside agencies to exchange information courteously and cooperatively.
• Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications 🎓

• High school diploma or GED with medical assisting certification, or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program. Certified Medical Assistant certification is a plus!
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient clinical experience, or 2 years in a related healthcare setting with medical assistant duties.
• Fluent in English; bilingual (English & Spanish) skills required for bilingual positions.
