Location & Schedule

• Location: Brooklyn, NY
• Hours/Days: 4/10 hour shifts; Mon-Tue, Thu-Fri 7:30am - 6:00pm (Wednesday RDO)
• Organization: Urology Department at NYH

Role & Responsibilities

• ✨ Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.
• 🧪 Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests.
• 🩺 Record patients' vital signs.
• 🚶‍♂️ Prepare patients for examinations.
• 🧹 Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
• 🖥️ Assist providers and support staff with data entry.
• 🤝 Assist physicians during visits with examinations and procedures.
• 🔬 Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• 📝 Other duties as assigned.

Note: Bilingual English/Russian skills are required.

Qualifications

• 🎓 Medical Assistant Certificate and High School Diploma required.
• 💻 Proficiency with an EMR system (preferred).
• 🪑 Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer, standing, bending, reaching.
• 🛡️ Knowledge of standard precautions and proper PPE usage when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids.
• 🏋️ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• 🚗 Reliable transportation for travel to NYH locations.
• 🔄 Flexibility to float between Brooklyn and Staten Island urology locations.
