Position Overview

Position: Bilingual Japanese Marketing Sales Assistant

Compensation: $22.75/hour (non-exempt)

Hiring Style: Direct hire, Full-time, Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Sales & Client Management: Cultivate and grow relationships with institutional clients such as librarians, professors, and buyers primarily through remote communication channels.
• Lead Generation: Proactively identify new business opportunities and sales leads via daily interactions and comprehensive market research.
• Order & Logistics Oversight: Oversee the entire sales cycle—from product intake and inventory control to shipping coordination and invoice processing.
• Financial Administration: Collaborate with management to set pricing and discounts; ensure prompt payment collection and follow-up on overdue balances.
• Digital Marketing & E-commerce: Execute targeted email marketing campaigns and manage online store operations to boost promotional growth.
• Customer Support & Database Management: Address customer inquiries and complaints via phone and email, maintaining accurate and updated customer and product databases.
• Team Leadership: Support supervision and training of part-time staff, providing guidance and reporting on performance or issues to the Sales Manager.
• Operational Support: Participate in trade shows, contribute to process improvements, and assist with special projects aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Language Skills: Fluent in both English and Japanese (written and verbal), with mastery in Keigo and translation.
• Experience: Background in bookselling, publishing, or digital sales preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in order processing, warehouse management, and vendor relations.
• Marketing & Sales: Experience in managing online sales and executing email marketing campaigns.
• Leadership: Ability to supervise and train part-time staff and lead small team initiatives.
